Earn a Computer Science Master Degree

For any high school student to enter into a college offering Computer Science Master Degree programs, it is important to do your best in high school and on the SAT. The SAT can be a tiring test, but it is critical. Most colleges uses the scores from the SAT to select incoming students for their Computer Science Master Degree program. SAT scores tend to show true ability in math and science better than school grades. A Computer Science Master Degree program is not an easy curriculum, and colleges want to select students that they feel can meet the tough course load.

In the first semester in a Computer Science Master Degree program, students usually take a college prep course that teaches them how to succeed in the college setting. They also must take courses in computer programming, calculus, advanced mathematics, science, English/Literature, social studies, and personal speaking. The second semester of the freshman year requires courses in algorithms, computer theory, differentials, humanities, and then a science elective.

Sophomore year in a Computer Science Master Degree program entails taking courses in advanced programming, matrix algebra, C Programming, UNIX Systems, science electives, computer systems introduction, technical communications, and then an arts elective in the first semester and any elective in the second semester.

The third year in a Computer Science Master Degree program, also known as the junior year, is a little less heavy in terms of course load. Computer Science Master Degree students take algorithm design, analysis, probability, and then a number of their own personal electives in arts, humanities, and computer science.

Finally, the fourth or senior year of an education program to gain a Computer Science Master Degree is lighter still but usually requires more hands-on practice. Students will take two computer science electives, two humanities electives, and then four electives of their own choosing. Most Computer Science Master Degree students will also start working or interning with a computer business to put their education to work.
