CCNA Training, or a Cisco Certified Network Associate program, is designed to provide students with apprentice level competency in Cisco systems. The successful student will be able to use their CCNA training to accomplish several important IT functions such as installing and operating LAN and Wan. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to install, and configure small networks with dial access. CCNA training is conducted using Cisco technologies such as routers, software and switches. However, a student completing the coursework will be able to use their skills on other systems as well.
CCNA training is conducted three types of institutions. Students who are entering into the training as candidates for certification are taught at local centers. These centers can be public secondary schools or colleges. Instructors for local centers are trained at regional centers. Cisco also establishes Academy Training Centers (CATCs) which are directly affiliated with Cisco. CCNA training for entry level students may be conducted at some Regional centers or Academy centers as well. CCNA training is broken down into 8 70 hour blocks. In secondary schools this training may encompass two academic years. Many college programs complete the copyrighted curriculum in one academic year.
CCNA training is apprenticeship level training on Cisco systems as it is the first step in a series of certifications. However, CCNA training will equip an IT professional with competency in protocols such as IP, IGRP, Serial, and Ethernet. Some students will be satisfied with this level of CCNA training, while others will want to pursue higher levels of certification. Your particular goals will help you determine how far you want to go with Cisco based training. Cisco training is demanding, but it is a well organized curriculum geared to provide the student with tools for their success. High standards and credibility make CCNA certification especially valuable.
