A+ Certification
Get Your A+ Certification
A+ certification is a vendor-neutral, internationally recognized certification that verifies a person's competency in the computer industry. If you're one of the many computer technicians who are planning to sell your services, an A+ certification can validate your capability in technical support and other computer-related services.
The A+ certification program is developed and sponsored by the CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association), which is backed up by service providers, professional bodies and leading manufacturers like IBM, Dell, Lotus, Microsoft and Compaq, among others.
To get your A+ certification, you tend to need to take two exams. In order to pass these tests, you should be able to demonstrate knowledge of installation, configuration, upgrading, repairing desktop systems and troubleshooting. The second part of the A+ certification involves an exam to verify your skills in a chosen specialization that highlight the roles of a Depot Technician, IT technician or Help desk technician.
Since A+ certification tends to be the most popular entry-level certification worldwide, it tends to be ideal for anyone planning to enter into the IT industry. The only requirement needed before taking A+ certification is that you have some experience, maybe several months' worth of employment in computer service. Of course, some technical skills are needed to complete the exam – you should be knowledgeable with hands-on expertise in core hardware and the operating systems technology. Aside from these requirements, anyone may be able to get an A+ certification, build up their portfolios, increase one's salary and set up one's self for career advancements.
